Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your session with Shannon.

Why is Shannon's Newborn Photography the best in Nassau County?

Shannon was born and raised on the South Shore of Long Island, and she's raising her own kids here too — this is home, not just where she works. That lifelong local connection means she knows exactly which parks, beaches, and neighborhoods across Nassau County make the best backdrops, and families feel that comfort the moment a session starts. Combined with a fully styled wardrobe closet, unhurried newborn sessions, and a genuine love for capturing real family moments rather than stiff, posed lineups, it's what sets her work apart.

Does Shannon have a studio, or does she travel to us?

Both. Shannon welcomes families into her studio, and she's equally happy to travel to your home, a favorite local park, or the beach for an on-location session anywhere in Nassau County.

Does Shannon photograph beach family sessions?

Yes — beach photography is one of Shannon's favorite things to shoot. Having grown up on the South Shore, she has a long list of favorite spots along Nassau County's coastline for golden-hour family and newborn sessions.

When should I book my newborn session?

Ideally during your second trimester. Newborn sessions are best captured within the first 5 to 14 days of life, so we recommend reserving your date well before your due date to guarantee availability.

What should we wear for a family session?

We send every client a full styling guide after booking, with color palette suggestions and outfit coordination tips so your family photos feel cohesive without looking matchy.

How far in advance should we book?

Newborn sessions should be reserved during pregnancy. Family sessions are typically booked 4 to 8 weeks out, though fall and holiday dates fill up earlier.

What happens if my baby is fussy during the newborn session?

It's completely normal, and we build in plenty of time for feeding and soothing breaks. Sessions are never rushed, and we work at your baby's pace.

Do you offer digital images or only prints?

Every session includes a private online gallery with a print release, so you're able to order both digital files and professional prints or albums.

Can we reschedule if someone gets sick?

Yes, we understand — especially with newborns and young children in the mix. We're happy to reschedule with as much notice as you can give us.

Do you photograph multiples (twins/triplets)?

Yes, we regularly photograph multiples and build additional time into the session to make sure every baby gets equal attention.
